Pulsed Harmonix is pleased to introduce its newest team member and Sales Manager, Chad Weller. A Professional Ultra-Marathoner, Chad embodies passion, perseverance, and a competitive drive like few others. Not only does Chad take part in rigorous athletic events, running up to 100 miles at a time, but he also has proven results, winning his age group in the Florida Everglades 50-Mile in 2014.
Growing up, Chad participated in a diverse array of sports, from soccer to baseball to basketball, yet never running. In fact, practicing wind sprints—a series of anaerobic dashes—for traditional team sports initially turned him off to running. Yet, two things changed for Chad later in life that led him back to running in a significant way.
First, as a Nutrition and Business Major at Ohio State University, Chad took an early morning running class, and given the size of the campus grounds, began running between classes as well, picking up extra miles as a matter of necessity. Second, following college, Chad moved to Milan, Italy, where he worked as a model. Exploring the historic city on foot, he returned to running, taking in scenic vistas as he did on the Ohio State campus.
Returning to the United States, Chad made Miami, FL his home, and ran his first race: a 5K. Rekindling his competitive spirit, he realized how good running made him feel, and soon after completed a series of 10k races. Chad then entered half-marathons, followed by a 20k in his native state of Ohio. The natural progression then led Chad to full marathons, until in 2010 he completed in his first 50k race in San Francisco, CA.
Running through California’s coastal redwood forest cast a spell on Chad, who describes the experience as spiritual, and ever since he has pursed wilderness-based ultra-marathons, seeking out destination-races around the world, far from the din of crowds. In fact, Chad has now now competed in over 200 races, not only in the US, but also in Thailand, France, Guatemala, Argentina, and Chile.
Chad’s energy and enthusiasm is visible everyone he meets, and Pulsed Harmonix is a natural fit for the athlete and world traveler. Like everyone at Pulsed Harmonix, Chad walks the talk, and uses the TruePulse A2000 to expedite the body’s natural healing processes, particularly after a long run. As Chad puts it, “The A2000 gives me energy, and aids in the healing process,” demonstrating the device firsthand to chiropractors and other medical practitioners across Colorado and beyond.
